And we had about 18, 000 little rotten apples, each of them just stole a couple of dollars, but together it was $36, 000. ” (ibid. ) •

The World on Honesty Most people lie. • Most people think they exhibit high ethics. • Why people are dishonest. 1. It’s not because of cost/benefit. 2. Many people lie/cheat as long as they can still view themselves as good people. 3. Dishonesty is based on selfishness. •

The Effects of Dishonesty • • Destroys Reputations (Prov. 22: 1; 1 Pet. 2: 12) Damages Relationships (Prov. 16: 28) Shows a lack of integrity (Prov. 11: 1 -3, 10: 9, 19: 1) It condemns the soul. (Prov. 6: 16 -20, 11: 1, 12: 22; Rev. 21: 8)

The Honest Heart • Put away dishonesty. 1. Put on holiness and righteousness. (Eph. 4: 24) 2. …including all lying (Eph. 4: 25; Col. 3: 9) 3. And a show of good faith (Eph. 4: 28)
