Where to start? With so much choice, deciding about what and where to study can be overwhelming. It’s important to know what matters to you. There are lots of factors to consider when choosing a course. In pairs, see how many you can you think of.

Your decision-making process Now let’s think about how to choose an HE course in some more detail using the worksheet provided. Deciding about something so important can be challenging but having a structure to guide your decisionmaking process will help.
Making SMART Decisions S M A R T Be specific about what you want to achieve. Avoid ambiguity and communicate clearly. Ensure your result is measurable. Have a clearly defined outcome that you can measure. Make sure it is an achievable outcome. Check it is realistic. It must be possible when taking account of time, ability and money. Make sure it is time-constrained. Set yourself an achievable timeframe, deadlines and milestones to check progress.

Research the universities that offer French and politics. Use UCAS, university league tables, and provider websites. Limited time to do this research at the same time as A-level study.
