Chinese Cuisine • Chinese Food often consists of rice and noodles of which they produce loads of. • In China people often pick up food with chopsticks instead of knives and forks. • Chopsticks were used in China over 5000 years ago. • Wheat noodles are popular in northern China while rice is popular more in southern China. • In shared meals rice gets served separately from the meats and vegetables, it is often placed in a bowl in the middle of the table.

Only sometimes are they other flavours, although these are the most common. • Ingredients in some Chinese food are often very random as there are frogs (Which are actually really nice) Chicken Feet, Pigs Ears, Intestines and sometimes Dog Meat. • There are no salt and pepper shakers or ketchup, instead you might find Soy sauce, Vinegar and Chilli Paste. • You don’t tip waiters or waitresses because it is included in the bill. • Most people in the north of China eat a lot more dumplings and noodles than in the south of China.

The Cultural Revolution • The Chinese Cultural Revolution lasted from 1966 till 1977. • Mao Zedong the ruler of China brought communism to china’s government in 1949 he started the cultural revolution to enforce that system. • Young People became red guards (see left). • The red guards would be forced to kill the elderly and scholars. • The Government shut down schools and universities didn’t reopen till 1970. • Mao Zedong died because of a stroke and a rare deadly form of cancer.
