Baby diary from the babies view point Birthday: Dear Diary, today was terrible. I was hanging out in my room when the room started to close in on me and I was shoved out the trap door that I was only going to use in the case of an emergency. The outside world is an awful place. I almost froze to death. Someone blinded me with the brightest light I have ever seen and before my eyes could adjust to the first vision I ever had I was smacked on the Bum and stabbed in the foot. 10
As I gasped for my first real breath of stinking cold air someone, who I can only assume hates me, put this sticky gunk in my eyes, so I still have not seen anything worth looking at. Next I was sprayed with water, but was not cleaned well because I still have gunk in my eyes and I can feel a cheesy substance on my head. I was thinking of escape, but those thoughts were cut short. 11
They then tied me up so I could not move my arms or legs. To make matters worse, I am getting hungry and liquids are leaking out of my body from all of my holes. I hope I can go back to my room soon. P. S. I have no language skills so expressing my feelings is impossible. 12
What can we do? From the moment we know we are pregnant (I say we, but I am not really included) we can make healthy choices. We must remember that babies are controlled by the lower brain. ◦ Means that they can’t be trained yet ◦ Can’t respond to praise or punishment yet. 13
