Child Welfare Division Mission Statement The Alabama Department of Human Resources will help families receive the least disruptive services they need, when they need them, and for only as long as they need them in order to maintain children in or return them to a safe, stable home.

ALIGNMENT WITH ADOPTION AND SAFE FAMILIES ACT(AFSA)1997 Summary The alignment of the AFSA with the Child Protective Services and the Child Aid Society of Alabama are all to improve the safety of children, promoting adoption and other permanent homes for children who need them, and support families from and children from abuse and /or neglect.
