Child Labor in Ecuador Project Mala In Ecuador
Child Labor in Ecuador Project Mala
In Ecuador there is a law which states that children who work must also go to school. Many families cannot afford that, therefore their children work without going to school. This ends with many children not getting enough education, or no education at all.
Project Mala is an organization whose main goal is to pay for school supplies so that children who work can also go to school. As of today Project Mala has enrolled nearly 6, 500 working children into school.
Project Mala does more than simply teach them basic math and science. They teach the children skills such as sewing, gardening, and food preservation. So if they wish the children could do jobs other than the current jobs most poverty stricken children are forced into, such as climbing high banana trees to harvest bananas.
Fund Raiser We could have everyone vote on a food they want brought in to be purchased by the student body.
OR produce trading cards, since many children work on farms, or plantations.
