As will expire on 28 February 2019 • Evidence submission to Regions by 22 February 2019 • Failure to submit evidence will result in committed amount being swept • Recovery process will be implemented for companies who would have been paid only tranche 1 a by contract end date 4
CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability TRADE UNION MEMBER TRAINING Trade Union Learning Practitioner Programme (TULP) • University of Johannesburg enrolled 20 union members on the Trade Union Learning Practitioner Programme. • The programme achieved a 90% throughput with 18 of the 20 learners successfully completing the programme Trade Union Practice Qualification (TUPQ) • Ditsela workers Education Institute enrolled 40 union members on the TUPQ programme. • Currently 31 learners are active on the programme and the training is anticipated to complete in May 2019. Labour Relations Training Programme • The Workers’ College has been awarded funding for training of 20 union members. The college is in the process of enrolling the candidates. 5

CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability CLASS OF 2018 HIGHLIGHTS • Anna Molelekeng Mokoena participated in the CHIETA funded Maths and Science Support Program. She obtained 99% in Maths and 100% in Physical Science, and an average of 94% from all her 7 subjects. • She was acknowledged as the top learner in quintile 1 schools nationally • Top Free State Province Matric achievers were awarded bursaries on 4 January 2019. Bursary funding is also co-funded by CHIETA and FS Do. E 7
