ü Students will receive one free agenda. ü Students are expected to write the daily agenda message for each class. ü Read the agenda as it contains important information about Discipline & Student Conduct, Dress Code, Early Dismissal, Honor Roll, and much more. ü The agenda must be signed nightly. ü It is the student’s responsibility to keep up with the agenda. ü Replacements cost for a lost agenda is $10. 00. Chestnut Log Code of Conduct The CLMS Code of Conduct is our expectation for appropriate student behavior. The Code of Conduct can be found in your agenda, in the hallways, and in your classrooms. Locker Expectations Ø Students are expected to purchase a locker for his/her belongings. Ø Students are not allowed to share lockers. Refrain from giving another student your locker combination. Ø Be sure to put your electronic device in your locker. Remember, no one should have access to your locker but you! Ø Book bags and other personal items should not be left in the hallway. Any items that are purposely left will be confiscated by administration

Classroom Expectations Ø Students are expected to bring all their materials to class. Ø Students are not allowed to leave class without a pass. Ø 10 -10 Rule Students are not allowed to leave class for any reason during the first and last ten minutes of the class period Ø Students are expected to purchase a locker. Book bags and other bags are not allowed to be carried into class.
Classroom Expectations The First Five 1. Enter class quietly. 2. Get your materials ready. 3. Sit in your assigned seat. 4. Copy your agenda message. 5. Start on your Bear Time activity.
Cafeteria Expectations Ø Be sure to grab everything you need before you sit down. Ø Once you sit down, do not leave your seat. Ø Students must sit in their assigned area. Ø Do not play with your food, and always clean up your mess! Ø Your teacher will tell you when to throw away your tray and line up. Ø Do not leave food or trash on the tables or on the floor. Ø No electronic devices are allowed in the cafeteria.

Bus Expectations Ø Listen for your bus number and report to the bus area quickly and quietly. Ø Stay in your seat and keep your hands and feet to yourself. Ø Do not throw items out of the window. Ø Refrain from making loud noises or yelling while on the bus. The driver needs to get you home safely. Ø Riding the bus is a privilege, not a right. Inappropriate behavior on the bus will result in losing your opportunity to ride the bus to/from school.
Dress Code Ø No holes should be worn at least 2” above the knee. Ø No tights or leggings can be worn. Tights/leggings can not be worn underneath pants with holes 2” above the knee. Ø No hoodies or large coats should be worn in the building. Ø No slides or flip flops. This is a safety issue! Ø No hats, bandanas, head wraps or sunglasses can be worn in the building. Ø Skirts/dresses/shorts can not be more than 2” above the knee.
Discipline Consequenc es ü ü ü Be Ready Be Responsible Be Respectful Step 1: Consequences determined by the grade level (may include silent lunch, detention, loss of classroom privileges, etc. ) and a call home to parent(s). Step 2: Parent Conference/Phone Conference Step 3: Referral to school counselor and call home to the parent(s). * Step 4: Administrative Referral You will meet with the counselors and the administrators to hear more about school-wide consequences for inappropriate behavior.
Electronic Devices ü ü ü Be Ready Be Responsible Be Respectful Electronic devices must be OFF and OUT-OF-SIGHT from the time you arrive on campus until leave. Devices are subject to confiscation. Inappropriate use of technology will result in disciplinary consequences.

Attendance All students are expected to attend school everyday, unless excused for a legitimate reason (Personal Illness, death in immediate family, court order, religious holiday, hazardous conditions, military leave of immediate family member) q Student must submit excuse to the Attendance Office within 3 school days of returning to school. q It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements to make up missed work with teachers (for excused absences). q Teachers are not required to accept make up work for unexcused absences. q For each absence beyond 10, student must bring excuse note from doctor, dentist, court, etc.
Medication q Students who must take medication on a regular basis are encouraged to take medicine at home, under a parent’s supervision. q When medicine must be taken during the school day, whether prescription or over-the-counter, the parent/student must turn medicine in to the Health Monitor immediately (in the Attendance Office) upon arrival at school. q All medicines must be in appropriately labeled prescription container or original store container. q Students found carrying any medication without an authorization form are subject to discipline consequences.
