Chesapeake Monitoring Cooperative
Presentation Overview • • Project goals Project partners Project building blocks How you can engage!
Goals of Project • Integrate non-traditional data into Chesapeake Bay watershed health assessments • Provide technical support and resources to volunteer and non-traditional monitoring groups • Build a database that is the central hub for non-traditional data in the Bay watershed that is user friendly and accessible to monitors and data users • Work with the CBP Partnership to augment their data collection efforts.
Project Partners
Chesapeake Monitoring Cooperative • Integrate data of known quality collected by diverse monitoring partners to better understand the health of Bay watershed, which will help inform watershed management decisions and restoration efforts. • 6 Year Initiative - EPA
CMC Building Blocks Mantras: • All data of known quality have use • Must match intended use with quality of data collected
Continuum of Vol. Mon Data Collection Education/ Awareness Assess Impairment Legal & Regulatory Increasing Time | Rigor | QA | Expense $$
