Cuban revolution ● Joined arms with Fidel and Raul Castro in the 26 of July movement forces. ● Goal was to land in Cuba and use armed force to overthrow the US supported Batista regime. ● Batista was a ruthless dictator who governed Cuba ● Served as a puppet government for the US. ● Che and 81 soldiers from the 26 th of July movement left Mexico and sailed to free Cuba. ● Fought guerrilla warfare, and slowly began capturing city after city. ● Eventually liberated Cuba from US oppression ● Established a new Cuban government ● Improve the literacy rate of Cuba by creating schools and free tuition universities.
