What is Indirect Characterization? • Indirect characterization shows things that reveal the personality of a character. • There are five different methods on indirect characterization:
Indirect Characterization Example • Beezus and Ramona: Beezus Speech: Beezus says that she does not have as much imagination as Ramona. Beezus says that she does not like her sister.
Indirect Characterization Example • Beezus and Ramona: Beezus Thoughts: Beezus often thinks about how exasperating Ramona can be. Beezus thinks about how other people are better than she is.
Indirect Characterization Example • Beezus and Ramona: Beezus Effect on Others: Beezus makes her mother happy by helping out with Ramona. Beezus is a good friend to Henry Huggins.
