8. 2. 2 Application of Animation • Advantages: Attract people’s attention and arouse their interest easily. • Applications: Films Television commercials Electronic public notice boards Computer games MERS Chapter 8 Multimedia Presentation – Animation and Three-dimensional Images 9
8. 2. 2 Application of Animation • Macromedia® Flash: Popular among game designers as they can use it to create animations easily. • Microsoft® Power. Point: Contain a lot of animation effects. MERS Chapter 8 Multimedia Presentation – Animation and Three-dimensional Images 10
8. 3 Three-dimensional Images MERS Chapter 8 Multimedia Presentation – Animation and Three-dimensional Images 11
8. 3 Three-dimensional Images • A two-dimensional (2 -D) image only has width and height. • A three-dimensional (3 -D) image has width, height and depth. It is more vivid than 2 -D images and thus is more effective in giving information. MERS Chapter 8 Multimedia Presentation – Animation and Three-dimensional Images 12
8. 3 Three-dimensional Images A 3 -D image has width, height and depth. MERS Chapter 8 Multimedia Presentation – Animation and Three-dimensional Images 13
8. 3 Three-dimensional Images • You can simulate a 3 -D image from a 2 -D image by adding lines, lighting and textures. • Specialised 3 -D software: 3 -D Studio Max 。 • You can also make 3 -D images using Microsoft® Word.
