Rom 9: 15, 16. . . “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. ” So it depends not upon man’s will or exertion, but upon God’s mercy.
Rom 9: 21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for beauty and another for menial use? Rom 9: 11 -13 Though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad, in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of his call, she was told, “The elder will serve the younger. ” As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated. ”

God could not have predestined the human Fall nor sins that make fallen people liable to judgment. Nor could He predestine such events as the destruction of the cosmos. Ezek 33: 11 “Say to them, As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel? ”
Ezek 33: 14, 15 “Again, though I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die, ’ yet if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right, if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. ” Jon 3: 10 When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God repented of the evil which he had said he would do to them; and he did not do it.

I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it. ”

Section 2 Predestination of the Accomplishment of God’s Will
