THE IMPORTANCE CLASSIFING ORGANISMS Classification is a systematic method to study organisms by observing similiarities and or differences of the characteristic that can be recognized (klasifikasi adalah sebuah cara yang sistematis untuk mempelajari makhluk hidup dengan melakukan pengamatan kesamaan dan atau perbedaan ciri-ciri yang dapat dikenali) Classification can be done through several phases as follows : (klasifikasi dapat dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap, antara lain : ) a. Identification Phase (tahap identifikasi) b. Grouping Phase (tahap pengelompokan) c. Name Giving Phase (tahap pemberian nama) (binomial nomenclature)

B. USING THE SIMPLE DETERMINATION KEY To simplify the recognation or identification of a living organisms is called Detemination Keys. (untuk mempermudah dalam mengenali atau identifikasi makhluk hidup kita memerlukan namanya KUNCI DETERMINASI) The most effective method from this determination key is the Dichotomic System. (cara yang paling efektif dalam menggunakan kunci determinasi adalah dengan SISTEM DIKOTOMIK)

(Ernest Haeckal, menempatkan mikroorganisme dalam kingdom tersendiri yaitu PROTISTA) R. H. Whittaker (1969), devided the classification system into 5 kingdoms based on cell type. (R. H. Whittaker tahun 1969, membagi sistem klasifikasi menjadi 5 kingdom berdasarkan bentuk selnya. )
