Chapter 4 LONG AND SHORT
Measuring of shorter objects. Akshita bought a new pencil and she want to know how long is her pencil ? The length of the pencil is 14 centimetres. We use the centimetre ( cm )scale to measure the shorter objects.
Measuring of longer objects. A tailor uses measuring tape to measure cloths. Longer and taller objects are measured in metres. ( Trees, Buildings, Bridges, etc ) 100 centimetres = 1 metre.
Measuring of longer distances. Distance between Anusree’s house and her school is 2 km. KV KALPETTA 2 KM Longer distances are measured in kilometers 1000 metres = 1 kilometre.
