Why do we learn weak forms? 1. Strong forms are unnatural and foreign sounding 2. It’s difficult to understand native speakers if we don’t know weak forms
Weak and contracted forms Contracted forms are used in informal writing e. g. It’s. . . we’ve. . won’t But weak forms are different
All weak and strong forms are: Function words (words without dictionary meaning) e. g. Auxiliary verbs, prepositions, conjunction. Etc. .
