Targeting the Behavior • The first step in the process of changing a problem behavior is to create an operational definition. • Before a student can replace problematic behavior with an appropriate one, both actions must be defined in terms that are observable, measurable, and repeatable. • This is called “pinpointing behavior”. © Cengage Learning.
