Warm-up Activity – Vocabulary Bingo Ø Ø Each student will receive a bingo card. Mark the box with the right definition. The first 3 people to get bingo will receive a reward! 10 minutes

Activity 1: Group Presentation Students will be broken into 3 groups. Group 1: Describe the first form of child maltreatment Physical abuse, its consequences in development, and prevention strategies Group 2: Describe the second form of child maltreatment Sexual abuse, its consequences in development, and prevention strategies. Group 3: Describe third form of child maltreatment Neglect & Emotional abuse, its consequences in development, and prevention strategies. 15 minutes to plan and 10 minutes to present.

Activity 2: Role play Class will be divided into 3 groups (Same groups) In their group, they will describe and role play the different child-rearing styles: Authoritive, Authoritarian, Permissive, and Uninvolved. Group 1: Describe and role play an Authoritive parent Group 2: Describe and role play a Authoritarian parent Group 3: Describe and role play a Permissive and Uninvolved parent 5 minutes to plan and 5 minutes to present Brief class discussion: Which child-rearing style is most effective? Why?
