What is Happening • You already use Connect. Carolina for Student Administration • Administrative staff will also use the portal to get to new Connect. Carolina Finance, Human Resources and Payroll applications on Oct. 1 – Fully integrated administrative system for the University • The Connect. Carolina portal interface is changing Aug. 15 to simplify your access and prepare for the Oct. 1 go-live – Requires changes to Student Admin interface – All functionality will be there but in a slightly different place

The Portal Home Page The new portal interface puts all functions under Student Admin (not in separate centers). 4

Student Administration Actions performed by Faculty, Advisors and Student Services Staff are all under Student Administration in the left navigation. 5

Oct. 1 Go-Live Cutover Schedule • Transition begins in mid-September – Cutover schedule: http: //ccinfo. unc. edu/go-live/cutover-schedule/ • Outages impact purchasing, hiring, and more – Check with your business office for how your school/unit is handling these outages – How to Prepare: http: //ccinfo. unc. edu/go-live/how-to-prepare/ • Outages are being limited to the shortest periods possible • Student Admin outage is: Fri. , Sept. 26, 5 pm to Mon. , Sept. 29, 8 am • Awareness and preparation now may save difficulties during the cutover period 7

Other Changes Coming Oct. 1 • Chart of Accounts – Changing to lengthier, but more flexible chartfields – Check with your Business Office • Department numbers – Expanding from 4 to 6 digits – Check with your Business Office • Reporting tools and data warehouse – Infoporte will be main reporting tool used by campus for Student, Finance and HR/Payroll – More information is coming on this • Software purchasing – Will be done in Connect. Carolina (not through ITS software acquisition) – All faculty and staff will have access to this catalog – Purchases will go through an approval process by your department
