Ionization Energy (IE) and Electronegativity • IE and Electronegativity have the SAME trend. •

Ionization Energy (IE) and Electronegativity • IE and Electronegativity have the SAME trend. • Be sure to draw it on the small periodic tables that were handed out. • Easy way to remember IE and electronegativity. F is for frantic Finn. He’s hyper so has high numbers (IE and electronegativity) and loses weight (smallest atomic radius). Fr is for fat Franny. She’s lazy so has low numbers (IE and electronegativity) and never moves (largest atomic radius).
