Aim of qualification To enable students to: • Gain key personal and employability skills • To broaden experiences • To achieve formal recognition with an accredited qualification
Overview • Students undertake specified modules of work • Complete a variety of challenges • Demonstrate learning through a portfolio of work • Demonstrate that they have met the required standards and detail the processes they have followed.
Course Content The course content includes: • Introduction to working with other students • Improving own learning and performance • Problem solving • Research • Discussion • Presentation
Modules included (these may vary year to year) • Raising money for a charity of your choice • Completing a First Aid course • Researching a foreign country • Maintaining a gardening • Cooking a meal for specific dietary needs • Forecasting weather • Making something from recyclable materials • Giving an oral presentation about a topic of your choice • Researching and applying for a college course • Writing a letter of application for a job • Choosing a destination and pricing a family holiday abroad.
