Centro Internacional para la Investigación del Fenómeno de El Niño www. ciifen. org Main

Centro Internacional para la Investigación del Fenómeno de El Niño www. ciifen. org Main Challenges • Availability of funding is a limiting factor when developing regional activities • Asymmetries in the development of technical capabilities must be reduced • Communications and coordination between NMHS should be improved • Access to data from Global Production Centers GPCs is still limited • Communication between information generator and the user of the information has still a large gap to cover • The area of communication with users is not yet a priority in some NMHSs • Change the view of the authorities, private companies and international organizations to consider the NMHS not as a provider of information but as a strategic partner for development management 21
