CENTRAL FLORIDA AREA Central Florida COORDINATION Water Initiative 2016 Legislation SB 552/ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES • Ensures the development and implementation of uniform water supply planning, permitting and resource protection for the CFWI area; • Codifies the Central Florida Water Initiative, a collaborative water supply planning effort; • Requires that the CFWI develop uniform water management regulations within the CFWI region; and • Requires FDEP to initiate rulemaking for the uniform rules by Dec. 31, 2016. 6
