Why are we doing this? ABET Outcomes: H: The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context. I: A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning. J: A knowledge of contemporary issues. Course Objectives: Describe the impacts of civil and environmental engineering advances on human culture and the environment. Perform independent learning activities relating to civil and environmental engineering applications. This means: Independent, individual research; you will be graded on your presentation content quality. Discussion to follow each presentation; you will be tested on discussed/presented material.

Your Presentation 10 minutes person, plus everyone with the same topic will join together to lead a short 5 -10 minute class discussion. Slides: Title slide 1 -2 MAX on the technology => you are NOT teaching the technology!!!! 1 slide on response to need One slide on each impact = 6 slides Discussion questions => most important part – you MUST get the involved in discussion of the impacts!!!! 1 slide w/ References Correct citations NOT all internet please, don’t EXCEED YOUR TIME…!
