DRAFT 6
Supported Devices NYSED’s top priority in designing the computer -based tests is to create an equitable experience not only for students testing on both paper and computer formats but also for students testing on the four allowable testing devices. You must make sure not to allow automatic updates to Operating Systems (OS/i. OS) from this point forward—disable this ability for any testing devices now. DRAFT 7
Operational CBT Organization Proctors and school administrators should discuss the plan for proctoring CBT ahead of the testing window to determine how exactly your school will organize proctoring in conjunction with Nextera® Admin: • Will the school focus on active proctoring within the classroom • Will the school focus on technical proctors who are accessing Nextera Admin within the classroom
Setting Not-Tested Codes page Not-Tested Codes can be set from the Tests tab beginning on March 18. 9 • “Testing on Paper” is a Not Tested Code
Setting CBT Accommodations It is a school decision regarding who will set the student testing accommodations in the Nextera Admin platform. DRAFT 10
Submitting CBT “Prior to concluding test sessions, the proctor should point out to the students if they have left one or more answers completely blank, or, for paper-based testing, have darkened more than one circle for the same multiple-choice question. ” (Page 31, SAM) DRAFT 11
Setting CBT Accommodations Schools must download and review Student>Class reports to verify all student testing accommodations have been set: DRAFT 12

Proctor PIN To resume a paused test, the Proctor PIN will be input on the student’s keyboard by the Proctor and before the Access Code is input. Schools should have a communication plan to distribute updated Proctor PINs if a PIN becomes compromised. A student pauses the test The student returns to the device and login screen Enters his/her username and password Student resumes testing Enter the Session Access Code Enter the Proctor PIN DRAFT 18
Access Code and Proctor PIN The Access Code and Proctor PIN pop-up boxes look similar in the Nextera Test Delivery System but require different codes. The Access Code is required every time a student logs into the test. The Proctor PIN is required when a student logs back into a previously started test.
