CBS contribution to DPM • CBS designs, implements and operates the basic meteorological infrastructure, systems and services that support all WMO Programmes – WWW GOS, sustained observational (in situ, space) base – WWW GDPFS, core and specialised NWP systems – WWW GTS, distribution of data, products, warnings etc – WMO Space Programme – PWS, enhanced delivery and communication of public services Essential ‘backbone’ that support NMHSs • All are essential for the delivery of DPM activities – From planning through to outreach • Some CBS activities are specifically focused on assisting NMHSs with concrete DPM activities DPM Coord, 1 st Session, 4 -6 Dec 06
