What is Science Olympiad? Science Olympiad is a national organization that holds competitions over the country. Consists of 23 events in different science topics which require preparation. CB South competes with other high schools in Southeastern PA regional competition at Neumann University Last year, South took home 4 medals and finished 11 th in our region. This year, our goal is to place within the top seven at regionals to qualify for
What does it take? Science Olympiad is not just a club; it is a team that competes. As such, joining Science Olympiad requires… TIME - To do well, you will need to spend time studying and attending frequent practice sessions. PASSION - Choose events for which you have a passion. You will be spending a lot of time preparing. GRIT - Science Olympiad is not easy; you may encounter setbacks in your work. You will need to power through!
The Team A Science Olympiad team can have a maximum of 15 members, and only 7 seniors. Since there are 23 events and all of these events require two or more participants, each team member will compete in at least 3 events. Team members will be selected by attendance to respective event practices and results from practice tests. At Tiger Invitational, we can bring two teams; however, from regionals and forward, only ONE team is allowed.

Meeting Dates Monthly team meetings for ALL members to discuss progress on events and give updates on any news. Practice sessions for specific events: officers will coordinate meeting dates. Building and study events: there will be 2 dates where either a practice test or device test will be administered to view progress. Meeting Policies - Team meetings are MANDATORY-valid excuses are required to be absent. Practice sessions are not mandatory, but it is in your best interest to attend, especially on test dates. By attending these sessions, you are providing the officers with insight as to who is TRULY INTERESTED in competing come March
Application Turn in by Friday, September 23 Please place in the folder at Mr. Timmins room in a sealed envelope along with the club fee of $25, check made payable to CB South Student Activities Fund. The fee pays for our registration for the regional competition, our materials, and our transportation.
