LHC spare cryomodule test: remarks Goals of the exercise: • • re-qualify “AMERICAS” after exchange of the pumping crosses Assess static heat load document hardware and procedures train new staff in LHC CM testing Be ready to exchange one of the LHC CM with the refurbished one Work is proceeding well: CM entered in the clean room on April 18 th M 9 bunker preparations on-going (meeting later this morning) Aim for a cold test end of June. One month margin before SM 18 cryo-shutdown

HIE ISOLDE spares: remarks 5 spare cavities in the scope of the HIE ISOLDE project: Status QSS 2: fully qualified (record breaking cavity) QS 20: qualified but poor performance, foresee rinsing and re-test QS 18: coated before Christmas and still waiting for cold test QSS 3: third seamless cavity, recently delivered, helium port being welded QS 15: defects on the substrate, selected for “swaging” exercise Using leftover (bad) substrates: a fourth seamless spare would be an asset Spare cryostat insert to be put in operation • HIE ISOLDE commissioning on-going. • One RF line is damaged, OK for 2018 but will have to intervene during LS 2

Energy storage in batteries, and three phase overhead lines are sources of danger. • Approaching transport equipment is always dangerous. At CERN many such systems are operated using large batteries or overhead lines with brush sliders.
