Cause and Effect helps us to understand WHY things happen. Cause happens FIRST. Effect happens AFTER.
1. Cause: The reason something happens. This is WHY something happens 2. Effect: What happens because of something else. This is WHAT happened.
Cause Remember, a Cause happens FIRST. A cause is something that makes something else happen. It is the reason why something happens. The house is on fire because someone left the oven on. Cause- The oven was left on. Effect- The house caught on fire. Cause- The house is on fire. Effect-The fire department came to put out the fire.
Effect An effect is what happens because of something else (cause) It is the result of something happening Mr. Dee played soccer for 2 hours. He needed to stop and get a drink of water. Cause- playing soccer Effect- Mr. Dee was tired and he drank water
Practice with Cause. . . Remember, a Cause comes FIRST. Cause- Teeth are dirty Effect- Brush your teeth Cause- I fell down Effect- I broke my leg Cause- naked Effect - Got dressed Cause-messy hair Effect- brush your hair Cause- I have a broken leg Effect- Go to the hospital Cause- I fell off my bike Effect- Scraped my knee Cause- You don't want to smell Effect- Put on deodorant
