Cats By Chip
Movement - Cats use 4 legs to move around. - Triceps, pectoral and semitendinosus are the muscles that help support the movement of a cat. - Movement is important because if the cat don't move, they can't get around to get food and water and if they don't, they will die.
Sensitivities • • • - Cat sensitivity is when the cat senses things around it. The senses are: Sight: How the cat see things around it by looking. Hearing: How cats hear noises and respond to the noise. Smell: How cats smell things like food, pee or poo. Taste: How cats taste food. Touch: How cats feel things when it touches things like hot, cold, wet or dry things.
Respiration - Cats are mammals like us because cats inhales to get oxygen into his/ her nose and the oxygen comes down to the lungs. - Cats exhale to get C 02 out of his/ her lungs through the nose. The process goes again until the cat dies.
Growth • • • - There are 5 stages of a cat life cycle. They are: Kitten: The kitten was born up to 4 -6 months. They are very weak and they can't see or hear. Adolescent kittens: From 6 -12 months. Their growth is slow and sexually mature and therefore can reproduce. Adult cats: 12 months-7 years. They develop adult behaviors such as reduced activity unless kept active and can gain weight easily. Early senior years: 7 to 12 years. They usually still very active and early screening begins for renal dsease. Late senior years: Greater than 12 years. Cats are starting to slow down, some will be drinking more, are showing signs of stiffness and either gaining or losing weight
Reproduction - Female cat is pregnant for about 66 days. - 12 kittens (world record) can be born at once but there are more chance of getting 3 -5 kittens. - The kittens must stay with its mother for about 3 to 4 weeks. (It depends on the breed and health) - Newlyborn kitens are small enough to fit on the palm of your hand. - Kittens is a special name for baby cats
Nutrition - A cat eats meat, fish and sometimes grass. It can eat grass because it gives them some extra nutrients and can help them choke up furrballs when licking their fur. -Cats are a carnivores because they eat cat food which contains meat or fish and other nutrients.
Excretion - It happens when a cat sweats, urates and gets rids of a waste
