Written Language Has trouble writing her name sometimes without having visual assistance Enjoys drawing and creating verbal stories of what she has drawn Draws pictures and enjoys art
Literacy Asks adults to read to her throughout her school day Is read to at home very often Picks up books on her own to read
In the beginning Sophia was able to write her name with visual assistance Some letters were not written correct such as N, S, D, and R She knew most letters by name from memory of her own name and family members names and friends names Reading throughout the year
Throughout the year I, as well as other teachers, worked with Sophia on writing her name Verbal recognition of letters (Sunflower of the Week) Use of other tools in room to learn letters Reading and pointing to words that are being said *Email with mom
End of the year Sophia is able to write her own name and the names of other friends or family members She is eager to learn letters and words She asks for readers to point to the words on pages so that she can follow along
