Caru Cymru Did you know…? Welsh phrase of the week Shwmae? ! Hi, ‘how you doing? !’ Shwmae Su’mae Day is celebrated all over Wales on the 15 th of October. It’s a great opportunity to have fun and share the Welsh language – in the classroom, shop, leisure centre, work, school, playing fields and with your friends. At Pentrehafod, we will be celebrating Shwmae Day this Friday (19 -10 -19).

Caru Cymru COFIWCH ABERFAN REMEMBER ABERFAN At 9: 15 am on Friday, 21 st October, 1966, in the Welsh village of Aberfan, an entire coal mountain collapsed under the heavy weight of rain and swept away everything in its path. It destroyed homes and the local primary school. In total, 144 people were killed. 116 of whom were children mostly between the ages of 7 and 10.
