Promotion Criteria You must obtain a minimum number of units in each grade level to be promoted to the next grade level: � 5 units required for promotion to the 10 th grade � 11 units required for promotion to the 11 th grade � 17 units required for promotion to the 12 th grade

Honors and AP Classes § § You may want to think about your student and his/her traits as a student. Honors and AP require more time and more work than most classes. Almost all honors and AP courses require reading, writing, and activities outside of the classroom. Students must learn to manage their time.

Athletic Eligibility § § § Any student entering ninth grade for the first time

Athletic Eligibility § § § Any student entering ninth grade for the first time is eligible to participate in athletic activities for the first semester. At the end of the ninth grade year, the student must be on track to graduate (minimum 5 credits earned). Students must have an updated physical on file.

Registration Process § § § 8 th grade core academic teachers will enter academic course recommendations in Power. School. Elective sheets will go out February 3 rd at CMS. Students should take them home and review them with parents. Elective sheets should be returned to 8 th grade homeroom teachers by February 5 at 8: 30 am.

March 3 -5, 2021: 8 th Grade Student Conferences at CMS. Every student will have the opportunity to meet with a CHS staff member to review course selections before they are finalized. August 9, 2021, 6: 00 p. m. : Freshman Fee Day and Open House
