High School Graduation Requirements 1. Complete a minimum of 240 credits: *SUBJECT AREA: English: 4 Years Social Science: 4 Years (World Geography, World History, U. Community College There are 123 California Community Colleges A few local Community Colleges: Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) Hartnell College Cabrillo College n Monterey, CA Salinas, CA Santa Cruz, CA TWO OPTIONS: 1. Students can receive an Associates Degree (A. A or an A. S) -A basic college or vocational degree that can be earned in approx. two-years if attending full-time 2. Students can choose to transfer to a 4 -year University to earn a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science (B. A or B. S) degree.
