Carl Friedrich Gauss was born on 30 April 1777 in Braunschweig in Germany. He was educated at what is now Braunschweig University of Technology and later the University of Göttingen. He invented the heliotrope and helped track the dwarf planet Ceres in the asteroid belt. He is considered to be the most influential mathematician.
Ada Lovelace
Ada Lovelace’s full name and title is Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace. Her father was Lord Byron. She was born 10 December 1815 in London. She was privately schooled in mathematics and science by William Frend, William King, and Mary Somerville. Ada worked with Charles Babbage on his Analytical Engine and wrote the first programme to be carried out by the computer.
Leonardo fibonacci
Leonardo Fibonacci Not much is known about his birth but it is known that he was born between 1170 – 1175 in Pisa in Italy. He is famous for discovering the Fibonacci sequence e. g. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 and using numbers 0 -9. Not much is known about his life but it is supposed that he died in Pisa between 1240 – 1250. He is considered to be the greatest mathematician of western medieval times.
Muḥammad ibn Mūsā al. Khwārizmī
Muḥammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī Muhammad was born in 780 ad to a Persian family in Khwarezm in Uzbekistan. It is unknown where he was educated. He invented algebra and all the rules of balancing and reduction both sides of the equation.
