Caritas Christ’s love urges us …

CARITAS Internationalis… It started with one man in the turn of the 19 th century Germany. Today Caritas Internationalis is one of the largest networks dedicated to reducing poverty and injustice throughout the world. Origin • 1897 The first "Caritas" started in a coal mining area in Germany. • 1901 “Caritas” was set up in Switzerland, the United States and other countries. • 1940 During the World War II disaster relief, Caritas could not undertake huge undertaking.
