Caregiver Health Services Workflow: Caregiver Exposure to COVID-19 Evaluation Caregiver with exposure to Confirmed + COVID-19 or PUI when test results take > 72 hours • Fever 100 F or greater or chills (or subjective fever) • New cough • Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing • New loss of sense of taste or smell • Sore throat • Acute generalized muscle pain • Acute fatigue or sudden onset of discomfort or illness • Gastrointestinal, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea • New or unusual headache • New or unusual/unexpected congestion or runny nose • Follow Caregiver Reports Symptoms of COVID-19 workflow Yes Work Symptomatic ? No • • • Home: Cohabitant May work if unable to staff otherwise (crisis staffing as defined locally) • If not, exclude from work 14 days since last exposure Self-monitor for all COVID-19 s/s twice daily Must stay at least 6 ft from others while PPE removed while eating or in break areas If symptoms develop, stay or go home; notify CL and CHS Exclude from work until 14 days from last exposure with positive contact (If unable to completely isolate from cohabitant, exposure continues until cohabitant reaches “discontinuation of home isolation” criteria** Yes Community • Symptomatic ? No • Follow Caregiver Reports Symptoms of COVID-19 workflow • • May work if unable to staff otherwise (crisis staffing as defined locally) Self-monitor for all COVID-19 s/s twice daily Must stay at least 6 ft from others while PPE removed while eating and in break areas If symptoms develop, stay or go home; notify CL and CHS Work Exposure Definition: Within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer or any duration if during an aerosol-generating procedure and HCP not using all recommended PPE for environment or activity or breach of PPE * Community Exposure Definition: Close contact to COVID+ person up to 2 days prior to symptom onset or two days prior to being tested if asymptomatic. Close contact is within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer with COVID-positive.
