Overview of RSSL • We have been in operation since 1987 • We have two sites based on Reading University campus • We employ ~300 staff within our different laboratories • Mondelēz International are our parent company, we work for them and for other companies as well

Wet Chemistry • Quality control of Pharmaceutical raw materials and API’s (Active Pharmaceutical ingredients) – – – p. H Limit tests (Arsenic, Lead, Iron, Sulphate, chlorides, aldehydes) Assay Identification tests Moisture analysis Glass vials and rubber closure testing
Instrumental Analysis Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy • Looks at behaviour of atoms in a magnetic field to provide structural information • Used to look at mixtures or extracted compounds • Capsule found in bottle of water
