WEBSITE DESIGNING Web design is a broad term covering many different skills and disciplines that are used in the production and maintenance of websites. The different areas of web design include; web graphic design, interface design, authoring; including standardized code and proprietary software, user experience design and search engine optimization.

WEBSITE DESIGNERS The web designers are responsible for the visual aspect, which includes the layout, colouring and typography of a web page. A web designer will also have a working knowledge of using a variety of languages such as HTML, CSS, Java. Script, PHP and Flash to create a site, although the extent of their knowledge will differ from one web designer to another.

SKILLS NEEDED Some experience using the RUP methodology. · Experience in developing websites and/or web applications. Minimum of 2 years of web design and development experience is required. · · Solid understanding of navigation and GUI for maximizing usability. Practical experience in development of HTML, Java. Script, CSS, SQL, Perl, graphics creation with Photoshop, Illustrator, (Adobe Creative Suite), multimedia creation with Flash, Action. Script, (Macromedia Studio). · Practical exposure and/or experience with some or all of the following: Java Server Pages and Java, XML, PHP, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Cold. Fusion Server, CFML, CFScript, IIS, Windows Server environments.
