Rieter Drawing Frame: RSB D-40
3. 0 Draw Frame Draw frame contributes less than 5% to production cost of yarn. But its influence on quality is very big, because drawing is the final process of quality improvement in the spinning mill and quality of draw frame sliver determines the final yarn quality. Task : • Drafting • Doubling(results in homogenization mixing or blending) Improved Evenness (CVm, U%) • Leveling (Autoleveller maintains absolute sliver fineness) • Hooks created in the card are straightened • Through the suction, intensive dust removal is achieved Machines : Lakshmi/Vouk/Rieter/Trutzschler/Crosrol/Marzoli

5. 0 Speed Frame Roving bobbin is the ideal package form for supply of material to the ring spinning frame. It is very convenient for transport and storing. Eventhough draw frame produces a sliver that already exhibits all the characteristics required for making the yarn; the roving frame is forced upon a spinner as a necessary evil for two reasons. They are: 1. higher draft 2. drawframe can feeding creates more problems Task : • Attenuation- drafting the sliver into roving • Twisting the drafted strand • Winding the twisted roving on a bobbin Machines : Zinser/Toyoda/Marzoli/

Autocone Parts • Grooved Drum in drum winding performs both basic operations i. e. , traverse and package withdrawal. • Tension Sensor continuously checks the yarn tension and responds to any variation in tension by increasing or decreasing tension on tension assembly. • Shutter Cuts the yarn by striking at a metal plate. • Clearer continuously scans the yarn surface and cuts in case of any defect. • Yarn Trap sucks the yarn end from the bobbin after a cut is mode and prevents it from failing down.
Autocone Parts • Waxing Assembly applies a thin layer of wax on yarn. It is only used in case of winding some special yarn like hosiery yarn. • Tensioner gives additional tension to the yarn being unwound from the bobbin. • Suction Mouth collects the yarn end from the package for splicing. • Ratie Pipe collects the yarn end from the bobbin for splicing. • Joining Assembly joins the two ends of yarn after a cut is made. • Gate Feeler detects the presence of yarn. • Ceramic Guide Gives path to yarn and is resistant to high speed moving yarn.
Winding Basics Ø Principles of Winding • Package Withdrawal(vertical speed) • The package is continuously rotated so that it can draw the yarn from the bobbin. Ø Yarn Traverse • The yarn is continuously moved to and fro on the package while winding so that it would get distributed over the whole length of the package. Ø Traverse: • The movement of yarn form one end of the cone to the other end is called a traverse. Ø Wind: • The number of coils of yarn wound on package per single traverse is called a wind.
Jute Yarn • Jute yarn (uses): • Fine jute yarn: used for making cloth and for internal lining of coats and jackets. • Medium jute yarn: used for packing cloth and for carpet backing. • Carpet jute yarn: used for carpet industry. • Sacking jute yarn: used for sacks and bags.
