Blog YOUR BLOG IS YOUR WORK IN PROGRESS PRESENTED TO THE WORLD. O It should include findings, analysis, links to supporting information, images, etc. O The blog reveals your thinking throughout the entire reading and research process.
Blog O The blog should reflect O your original perspectives, O how your reading impacts your thoughts, O and how your “so what? ” evolves and becomes a position or an argument. O Support for your position or argument should be included on your blog in the form of speeches, articles, and links from credible sources.
Blog O Fourteen (14) Blog Entries (minimum) O 1 post on proposal O 2 posts on book (minimum of 175 words each) O 1 post on a poem (minimum of 175 words) O 1 post on a short story (minimum of 175 words) O 2 -3 posts on scholarly articles (minimum of 175 words each) O 2 -3 posts on documentary/drama (minimum of 175 words each) O 4 Multimedia Post (Artwork, Videos, Music, etc. ) O 14 th = Your findings, the “so what? ” factor, synthesizing 3 sources, written with quality (7501, 000 words)
Blog O Ideas for your blog posts: O Reflections that include your insights, evolving thoughts, research, findings, ideas regarding your topic. O References to your book/short stories/poems if it changes the way you think about your topic –or- if it confirms the way you think about your topic. O Quotations about your topic that you want to share AND explain the significance in regard to your topic. O Links to You. Tube videos, Ted Talks, websites, books, articles, etc. , about your topic. Be sure to explain how they link and why you are highlighting them on your blog.
Blog Ultimate goal of your Blog: O Prove that you read, researched, and learned through this process. You are showing me how and what you THOUGHT as you worked through the topic you chose…. O Check due dates for posting on your calendar…
Portfolio YOUR PORTFOLIO IS A DEMONSTRATION OF YOUR USE OF THE READING & ANALYSIS SKILLS WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. O It should include note-taking, annotations, TPCASTTs, and other reading & analysis skills you use in your research process.
Portfolio O Reading Journals about your reading that reflect awareness and use of reading strategies (summary, question-asking, prediction, etc. ) O Include 3 poems with notes (2 by world authors, not American) read & TPCASTT’d O Include 2 short stories with notes (1 by world author, not America) read & annotated or with a summary and at least 3 connections to other areas of your research
Portfolio O Reading Journal continued O Include notes from your chosen drama/play or documentary/film O Include notes, quotes, and connections from your book O Research: 3 -5 professional or scholarly articles linked to your topic, read annotated O Annotated Bibliography of all your professional sources, texts, sources (next Thursday)
Portfolio O This can be on your blog: must have a separate page on your blog for reading journal and photos of annotated documents O Due on the day of your presentation.
