Mission Statement The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer
About our research Investing in the best research has led to tremendous progress against cancer. We know more about what causes cancer, how it develops, how best to treat it and how we can improve the quality of life of people living with cancer.
About our research Today, over 60% of Canadians diagnosed with cancer will survive at least 5 years after their diagnosis. In the 1940 s, survival was about 25%.
About our research In 2014– 2015, the Canadian Cancer Society funded $44 million in leading-edge research supporting more than 400 projects across the country. As the largest national charitable funder of cancer research in Canada, we are leading the fight against cancer.

Canadian Cancer Statistics publication This annual publication provides health professionals, researchers, policy-makers and the general public with detailed information about incidence, mortality and other statistics for the most common types of cancer by age, sex, year and province or territory.
Canadian Cancer Statistics Publications It is developed through collaboration between the Canadian Cancer Society, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Statistics Canada and provincial and territorial cancer registries with input from the Canadian Cancer Statistics Advisory Committee.
