LANDSCAPE Cambridge is a city of Great Britain. It is located in the eastern part at 100 km next to London and it is wet by the Cam river from south, Great Ouse river from northeast. The country is bordered to the north by the Lincolnshire, to the east by the Norfolk and Suffolk, to the south by the Essex and Hertfordshire and to the west by the Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire The landscape is flat with areas below the level of the sea in the Northeast. Small hills rising only in the south of the country.
CLIMATE The Winter is cold and cloudy, sometimes misty, sometimes windy. During the winter, average temperatures are more or less the same from north to south, so that the average temperature in January is around 3/4 degrees in both the north, in the center, in the south
HOW GET THERE? You can go there by plane, by train and by ship. The nearest Airport is Heathrow then you can travel by car or train.
CULTURE The city is famous for its university, in addition the city offers many attractions as museums, gardens, churches, and bars. You can visit the city on foot there are many walking tours, spin bike. There attractions as: - the Fitzwilliam museums where there are important collection of paintings - Round church, it is one of only four round Norman churches in England. FOOD & FUN In Cambridge there are many restaurants but above all pubs for students, you can eat the fish and chips or Watson crick. In the night you can visit a beautiful concert in King’s College Chapel, or try shivers of fear participating at “Cambridge Ghost walk”
SPORTS In Cambridge and anyway all over England, the sport has a great importance, in fact is included in its curriculum and this has much value in seeking employment work. Most sports are made in the University of Cambridge, where they have established in the rivalry game between Cambridge and Oxford. There are some sports: rowing, rugby, basketball in recent years has become very important, then there are many minor sports but some practiced.
LEGENDS One of these traditions is the wooden spoon, a "Prize" awarded until 1909 to the one who received the lowest mark, that was not a rejection, in tripos math.
