Who are we? A club run completely by volunteers Creating opportunity for engagement among local alumni. Producing 20+ events and programming yearly. o Name, Class Year, Employer, Position 3
Club Mission: To create a thriving Chicago Booth alumni community on the West Coast; setting the stage for our local alumni community meet each other and grow. • • We hope to: ▪ Make meaningful connections among alumni ▪ Identify top talent as prospective students ▪ Help Booth students and alumni get hired and promoted. ▪ Leverage the brilliant minds of our alumni through thought leadership and speaking opportunities.
Planning events: Such as panel discussions, brunches, workshops, and intellectual discussions on topics of interest. • ▪ Event planning requires volunteers to help NOT ONLY suggest speakers and topics, but also to: ▪ ▪ Source venues (offices that will allow groups of 30 -50 alumni gather) Source speakers (target a fellow alum and thought leader as a speaker, find a way to connect, reach out, suggest a speaking engagement, and get an agreed date of availability.

What does Alumni Relations do? • In a word? Support. ▪ NAME is your liaison between the Booth and the club. ▪ Your strategic partner and guidance to proper planning. ▪ Publish events, order catering, or reserve space with a credit card. ▪ Your friend an advocate. ▪ Can help strategize, and offer realistic expectations.
What does the club president do? • Mainly NAME’s job is to lead and connect! ▪ Sets the tone and makes sure we all adhere to our mission and values ▪ Calls the leadership meetings, organizes the agenda, aligns on club’s vision and keeps the ideas moving forward ▪ Connects volunteers with club board members that need help with an event ▪ Fields inquiries from both outside and insider stakeholders
What do I do as a board member? • There a few requirements that we ask: ▪ Organize at least one event per year ▪ Attend at least 4 leadership meetings per year ▪ Volunteering to help with other board members’ events 2 times per year ▪ Social media promoter and community outreach. ▪ ▪ Be a connector of alumni (especially those that are new to the area) Make the alumni network a priority in your life ▪ Create your own path to build/strengthen our alumni community
What does a volunteer do? • You can help in many ways! ▪ Help make strategic introductions to board members ▪ (potential venues, and speakers/panelists) ▪ Help with registration and nametags. ▪ Being a greeter goes a LONG way, you meet many alumni. ▪ Bring visible Booth branded swag to events so that alumni can find one another! ▪ Be the point person for Worldwide Booth Night. ▪ Create your own path to build/strengthen our alumni community
What if I can’t help right now? It’s okay! There always to contribute that are easy… • ▪ You can still be a great Booth ambassador. ❑ Tell people that you went to Booth! ❑ Just doing that expands the Booth brand (you might even meet another Boothie at work that you never knew was a fellow alum!) ▪ Recommend prospective students on Shape the Class. ▪ Alert a club board member (or ALUMNI RELATIONS) if you know of fabulous company hiring interns or offering full time positions.
Now what? • You tell us! ▪ How can you best serve the club? A board member? A volunteer? A Booth ambassador? A new event? Want to join an existing group?
