Calendar Project Directions
Calendar Project • You are creating an equation Calendar using your birth month. • Each date (square) will represent a specific type of equation problem and color coded. • The answer to the equation is the calendar Date. • You may want to use previous work completed to help you come up with problems to use on your calendar. • Final Project will be on ½ of a poster board. • You will be graded with a rubric that requires specific things to be completed. • This is a test grade!
Rough Draft • You will create a rough draft calendar first! • It is only to be done in pencil, with one exception. (the coloring of the numbers) • It must show all the dates, work in each square completed, with answer matching the date. • No creative design is due on this date, only the completed problems in each box for each day and the color coding identifying the problems. • If your birthday is in February, you will use the blank dates for the final two problems. • Rough draft is due Thursday, Sept. 27!!! • Make sure your name is on your draft.
Within the square for each day, you will create a math problem in which the solution is equal to the date. You must also show the work of the problem in the square. • Your calendar MUST have: q 6 equations that include fractions – Color # Red q 6 equations that include decimals – Color # Blue q 6 equations with distributive property – Color # Green q 6 proportional relationships – Color # Orange q 4 multi-step inequalities – Color # Pink q 1 equation with No Solution – Color # Yellow q 1 equation with Infinite Solutions – Color # Yellow DON’T COLOR THE WHOLE BOX THIS COLOR, ONLY WHERE THE NUMBER IS. FINAL PROBLEMs MUST BE IN INK.
• Create a blank representation of your birth month. It should look something like this: 1 2 3 4 5 Be Creative! Overall design, layout, decoration and neatness WILL be part of your final grade!
Final Project Due Date: Friday 11/22 Rough Draft Due: Wednesday 11/20 before class ends
