Matrix operations Addition and subtraction • You can only add and subtract matrices if they are the same shape • You add/subtract matrices by adding/subtracting entries in the same position on each matrix

Matrix operations Multiplying matrices • The order of multiplication matters! • Multiply from left to right • The row number from the left and the column number from the right give the location of the entry in the resultant matrix • No. of columns on the left must match the no. of rows on the right • The result is a matrix with the same number of rows as the left and the same number of columns as the right
