CADET ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATIONS 9. Cadet Assessment and Evaluations. An inspection of our program

CADET ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATIONS 9. Cadet Assessment and Evaluations. An inspection of our program will be accomplished annually. A formal inspection is conducted by Headquarters AFJROTC every third year while a self-inspection is conducted the other two years. Therefore, each leadership group every year will prepare the unit for inspection. 9. 1 The unit assessment will be part of the unit’s yearly planning calendar. The Cadet Stan/Eval Officer/NCO is responsible for preparing the unit for the inspection, with involvement by other staff positions. 9. 1. 1 The assessment is centered on Cadet Leadership. Are the cadets taking ownership of the program? Do they take responsibility? Do they lead by example? This unit will not be successful unless all cadets are involved and participate. 9. 1. 2 Adherence to dress and appearance standards defines pride in our program. Cadet leaders and staff must take individual pride in properly wearing their uniform, but also correct and help others wear the uniform properly. This will instill a sense of pride throughout the unit with all cadets properly wearing the uniform. 9. 1. 3 A cadet-led 30 command drill sequence will be accomplished by second-year cadets. Therefore, all second-year cadets and higher are expected to be able to perform and call the 30 -step drill sequence. Firstyear cadets may be part of the flight, but the flight commander must be a second-year cadet. 9. 2. The Cadet Group Commander and Cadet Deputy Group Commander are responsible to put together a Unit Brief, to be conducted each semester. 9. 2. 1. The Unit Brief describes the demographics of the program, to include an introduction to our program and any special conditions our unit may face, as well as unit goal progress, unit achievements and future challenges. Additionally, the Unit Brief must include the unit health and wellness program, how it operates, and assessments and progress to date. It is encouraged to include pictures of the activities performed. The Unit Brief may include activities that go back to the last external evaluation conducted. 9. 2. 1. Treat each unit brief as if it is a formal presentation – invite a school official, military recruiter or someone else of importance to be briefed.
