Step 5 – Connect CADD Pump 1. Remove tubing and paper strips, set tubing so spike adaptor is accessible Training Video appears on next slide 2. Remove blue covering from access port of medication bag, remove white cap from spike adaptor 3. Insert spike adaptor into access port, set medication bag aside 4. Turn on CADD Solis Pump, self-check will be indicated by 6 beeps, prime medication through tubing by removing plastic tab from hard plastic cassette, pull down silver lever on CADD pump and attach hard plastic cassette and then pull up on silver lever, answer “yes” to prime tubing, open clamps, prime tubing, answer “prime”, answer “no” to continue priming, “no”, answer “no” to start pump, release clamp on patient line 5. Alcohol wipe end cap of line (scrub for 15 -30 seconds) and release clamp 6. Connect saline flush onto blue cap and flush line (push/pause method) and then disconnect 7. Alcohol wipe end cap of line (scrub for 15 -30 seconds) 8. Connect tubing to line, remove clear plastic end attach to blue cap Contoso Pharmaceuticals page 7

Step 5 – Connect CADD Pump 1. Push start button on CADD Pump, answer “yes” to start pump Training Video appears on next slide 2. Place medication and pump into carrying pouch 3. CADD Pump will alert when infusion is complete, push stop button on CADD Pump, answer “yes” to stop pump 4. Wash your hands 5. Clamp the tubing and unscrew from line 6. Alcohol wipe end cap of line (scrub for 15 -30 seconds) 7. Flush line with saline (push/pause method) 8. Clamp patient line and unscrew saline flush 9.
