§ Hi! I am Tyler Bohn. I am an average city boy from the country. I transferred here to Towson University to become an inspiring first or second grade teacher. I am excited to see where life takes me, but for now I will give you a view into my past. I encourage you to read on…
§ I was a former General Studies major at Howard Community College. I worked my way through an interesting journey of switching my major and soul searching to find the career path of Early Childhood Education, for which I am currently attending Towson University.

§ Name: Tyler Kenneth Bohn § Address: § Email: University Village; Building 6, Apt. 6311; Towson, MD Tbohn 1@students. towson. edu
§ I was born at Howard County General Hospital, then taken to my home in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, where I lived until the age of 6. My family then moved to Mount Airy, Maryland, where I resided until coming to Towson University. I will remain in Towson, Maryland, for the next two years or more. Anything after that is yet-to-be determined.
§ I have a mom and dad who are happily married. § I have a sister who is 25, and lives in Baltimore, Maryland, and a half brother who is 38 and lives with his wife and two kids in Crofton, Maryland. § My family is huge; there are over 20 grandkids.
§ I personally own a dog (English Cocker Spaniel) named Owen. § My mom owns a cat named Ace and a dog (English Cocker Spaniel) named Jane. § My sister owns a dog (Boxer Lab Mix) named Mia.
§ I attended Glenelg High School in Howard County. § Then moved on to Howard Community College for my Associates degree. § Finishing my career goal at Towson University.
§ I work at Trader Joes in Towson, Maryland.
§ Longboarding § Rock Balancing § Guitar
§ I can walk on my hands for over 50 yards. § I can jump onto a box that is 62 inches high. § I really like the piano, I can not play but I love to listen to other people play.
§ When I dress well. I have the mentality of “dress well, test well”, but I apply it to everyday. When I am confident in what I look like and in myself, I learn better. § When people talk to me in class. These constant breaks give me motivation, my brain a rest, and allow me to get work done in a reasonable timely fashion. This also applies for the teacher teaching the class. § When I am stressed. For some reason I remember more when there is an urgent need to remember information…sometimes even when I don’t need to remember things for important reasons like a test I put a fake importance and urgency behind it so that I can remember easier. § When I am given Powerpoints ahead of time. This allows me to bring it to class and have an idea of what is going to be talked about in class. This also allows me to focus on the extra information teachers present during lectures.
§ When there are better things to do going on around me. I sometimes need to isolate myself. § When my teacher has a monotone voice and does not tell jokes, I essentially shut down. § When I am hungry. It is impossible for me to focus when I am thinking about eating. § When the basic chores at home aren't done. This is because I constantly think over and over about getting done whatever I am doing to go finish those chores. I try to do them all every morning before class so this doesn’t occur.
§ To Do Lists: I make one everyday. § Music: especially classical music. § Paraphrasing: In all my books, every chapter and sometimes paragraphs, I write a little summary of what I have just read. § My Dog: when my dog is in the room he motivates me. It helps me to not feel alone on this school journey.
§ I am really good at taking what is presented on the overhead in class, and “copying” it into my mind photographically. § I am really good at listening. § I am really good at doing “busy work” § I am really good at prioritizing my work on a weekly basis.
§ I am not very good at math, especially algebra. § I am not very good at taking notes. I find that Powerpoints that can be printed out ahead of time are very beneficial to me. § I am not very good at proofreading. § I am not very good at taking tests. (any kind)
§ I am a very visual person. It is best if, in lectures, teachers use visual examples for what they are trying to teach. § It helps when concepts that were recently gone over are followed up with questions asked to me as the learner. This allows me to think past the information given. § I can only keep attention for about 45 minutes at a time. I like to take breaks in between the work that I do. § I am a textbook learner. It helps me to have the textbook in front of me so that I can highlight, write notes in the margins and intake the information at a faster rate. § I am not a good test taker. I get anxiety and I tend to freeze up and end up doing poorly on tests. I am very good at projects and would much rather have a project final over a test final. § I am a very hands on learner. I would rather not sit and listen to a lecture. I prefer to get up and move around the classroom, get involved in class discussions, and get “involved and active” in my learning.
§ I am a visual learner who can adapt to almost any situation I am given. My strengths and problem areas make me who I am as a learner. I am fully aware of these difficulties and how they affect me. Saying this, I like to be prepared for assignments and do my work to the best of my ability.
