Why is visualizing important? • Visualizing is important because it helps a person to better understand a passage. • It allows the person to almost see what he/she is reading.
Questions What is visualizing texts? Visualizing texts is using all the descriptive words from a story to make a picture in your head.
How does visualizing texts help you? Visualizing helps you see what is happening in the story. For example , “ The smart little girl was happy when she got an A on her test. ” You can see the happy little girl holding her test in your head.
How to Visualize 1. Read the book carefully and draw a quick picture of what you think the person or object looks like. 2. Explain what you are drawing to yourself to make sure that you understand what you are doing (Listen to your thoughts). 3. Review the sketches after reading to remind yourself about the important details. Make sure to pay attention to adjectives that help you visualize a person or thing!!!
How About Some Examples? This picture is how I visualize Hogwarts from the Harry Potter series. Hogwarts is a very large and beautiful school. It looks a little bit old and very mysterious.
One More Example In the Series of Unfortunate Events, Count Olaf is an evil man. He is tall and skinny. He is scary and creepy.
